Some years after we moved in we were visited by some of the family who owned the property many years ago and who were back in the area to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. They were the children of the original owners and they sent us some photographs of the early days - scroll down to see a few of them.
The Bowraville road connects the towns of Bowraville and Bellingen, but has been closed south of us, because of storm damage in 2009. The road was built in 1880 and was the main coach route travelling north and south, when the Pacific Highway did not exist.
