visit to Canberra April 2016
We drove to Canberra to visit the National Gallery of Australia - journey there and back 1850km.
Photos as follows
Kurrajong Hotel in the centre of the political section of Canberra. The postwar Prime Minister Ben Chifley lived there when Parliament was in session and could walk to work.
Irene with Ben Chifley, he is on the right, and the other man is John Curtin the war time prime minister
Old Parliament House -we had lunch there in the Hoi Polloi restaurant, which was the old non members bar (Hoi Polloi translates in Australia as the great unwashed)
Aboriginal protest - the sign says Sovereignty. In the distance is the Australian war memorial
